Commentary Pinkenba is a mainly industrial suburb stretching from the mouth of the Brisbane River to the Royal Queensland Golf Club and Gateway Bridge.

Located on the northern side of the River, Pinkenba is home to numerous wharfs and industrial plants such as the BP Oil Refinery on Bulwer Island.

A small pocket of homes exists in and around McBride Road and services on offer in nearby suburbs complement local facilities.

Nearby suburbs of Ascot and Hendra complement Pinkenba Primary School and provide residents with the option of public and private schools. Pinkenba Recreational Reserve offers a small amount of greenery in an industrial environment.
