| Commentary |
Located approximately 9km northwest of Brisbane's CBD Keperra is surrounded by Upper Kedron, Mitchelton, Oxford Park, Arana Hills, Ferny Hills, The Gap and the Enoggera Military Camp.
Despite new developments Keperra remains a leafy suburb characterised by tall gum trees and relatively large backyards. Older housing in Keperra consists mostly of chamferboard homes while the new Kings Grove Estate, built on the old Keperra Drive-In site, gives buyers the option of low and high set brick homes.
Buyers coming into the area benefit from the suburb's local parks and amenities, as well as good public transport services. Keperra has two rail stations (Keperra and Grovely) within its suburb boundaries. These are complemented by regular bus services in and around the surrounding suburbs and connections to larger bus terminals such as Brookside.
Residents choosing to drive to work will find that Samford Road through Mitchelton and Enoggera and Waterworks Road through The Gap provide a good run, with a daily commute estimated at about 30 minutes.
Prior to the construction of a new shopping village on Settlement Road, Kmart Plaza on Dawson Parade was the closest supermarket shopping centre for Keperra residents. Brookside Shopping Centre, a quick 5 to 10 minute drive away, also offers residents a choice of supermarkets, Myers, Target and smaller retail chains.
The Keperra Golf Course, McKell Oval and adjoining rugby league club, local parks, walk and bikeways provide a range of outdoor activities for residents. Local parks offer residents barbeque and picnic spots, basketball half courts, and local groups of the Scouts and Girl Guides associations.
St William's Catholic Primary School and Grovely Primary School based in the Grovely region of the suburb are complemented by state and private schools in Mitchelton, Ferny Hills and Ferny Grove. The Australian Catholic University situated in Mitchelton is also close by.
Good facilities and transport in the area has seen the median price growth in Keperra grow steadily over the last five years.
